I'm really excited as this will be my first time going big game hunting

My stepdad asked me if i would like to deer hunt with him this year. It's being years since i hunted at all and i have never hunted deer. I think it will be fun even if i just sit in the woods awhile, but who knows , I may get lucky. lol

Not having shot a gun in years i was a little concerned.

I got up planning to shot a little today but when I looked out the window I was suprised to see a lot of rain.

So I settled in and drank a little coffee and waited.

I got a bit to eat and watched out the window awhile, we had three and a half inches in just a few hours. Quite a downpour there for a bit.

But finally the rain stopped and the sun came out.

leaving the gun range very muddy. So i just grabbed my rubber boots and said "what the heck" it was really humid and soon i was soaked in sweat, kinda felt good to be out and doing something.

The bench was still wet

but I got out the gear and soon I was set up and ready.

A 100 yards to impact

Hoping to get the scope set for me, with the .243 Remington I need tight groups to show me how to correct. I will shoot three rounds then check the target , then three more walking downrange after each set to look at their landings.

The first round kinda caught me by surprise to find how light the trigger was

but after the first three shots , i knew i like this gun. It's my mothers, but she hasn't hunted in years, the stock was cut to fit her arm lenght and it felt good to me because i am just a little taller than she is, it fit me well

Happy with my first time out , i shot 4 sets of three

with nine rounds in the center orange, seven of which can be covered with a quater, and the other three landing just in the outside black all 12 would put meat in the freezer at a 100 yards

not a bad start at all, who knows i may even get one this year lol
